PHYSIO23’s team of professionals can get you back to your peak with the R3M recovery model.
The rest phase of the R3M Journey is simple. It is designed to rest and restore your body and your injury. Adequate rest allows the body’s natural healing response to take place. Rest doesn’t mean doing nothing for long periods of time, but rather, gives the body the opportunity to recover from the micro trauma of over-training, acute and/or chronic injury. At Physio23 we believe it is best when you combine a rest and recover phase with modified movement. Modified movement during this phase facilitates the natural healing process and helps to limit compensatory tightness and pain developing. In this stage of the R3M Journey you are allowing your body the ideal environment to heal and repair.
The release phase of the R3M Journey requires you to utilise some self-treatment skills:) At Physio23 our experienced physio’s will educate you on specific techniques unique to your situation that will assist you to release restricted movement. Restricted movement may result from one or a combination of nerve irritation, nerve tension, muscle tension and tightness, muscle trigger points (knots), joint stiffness, muscle and joint imbalances. Understanding the specific release techniques relevant to you is vital as it will assist you in your recovery away from the Physio23 office.
